What is real? Could we take a pragmatic approach by first understanding the limitations of our minds and how they can become self-validating systems? This means the mind projects a sense of reality on a dualistic illusion, and the only way out is to connect to something outside the quicksand of our minds.
As a starting point, that which is outside our minds is real in the sense that it can serve as a frame of reference for questioning the sense of reality created inside the mind. This can gradually connect us to a reality outside our minds.
Ultimately, what is real is the one mind behind all forms, and we can connect to that mind at any level of consciousness. Yet what we receive from the one mind is not an ultimate truth, but an insight that helps us rise to the next level of consciousness. Thus, we cannot know ultimate reality until we ascend from this dense planet.
