AULONOCARA BAENSCHI | African Cichlid Species Spotlight Episode 2

Aulonocara Baenschi (The Sunshine Peacock) is an omnivore from Lake Malawi in Africa. The species of fish itself is found on the southern part of the Lake eating small invertebrates as well as plant matter. Males display a bright blue face, yellow body & long fins where as the female (Like MOST african cichlid females) are dull & colorless for the most part. The sunshine peacock/Benga peacock is commonly found in the hobby and is available at most local fish stores due to it being an awesome fish with a good temperament. It can be housed with the majority of aulonocara/peacock species, as well as milder Mbuna & some of the smaller Haplochromis. From 3“ to full grown the fish itself should not be kept in a fish tank any less than 55 gallons.
