Horse crashes into barrier during royal procession after King’s coronation

Just after the King and Queen’s carriage rounded the corner from Whitehall into The Mall one of the horses in the procession appeared to be spooked, rearing backwards into the barriers separating the public from the route. The horse, which followed shortly behind the Gold State Coach carrying the newly crowned King and Queen, galloped back into the railing. It appeared to knock a policewoman standing guard causing Navy medics to rush over with a stretcher. However, no one was seriously injured - with the soldier who dropped his hat apologising before rejoining formation. Wills and Kate, joined by George, Charlotte and Louis, followed in a carriage shortly afterwards.
