On this debut disc, Steve Pierson is joined by veteran acoustic guitarist, Laurence Juber, who also produces this disc, Gerald Johnson--bassist from the Steve Miller Band, Michael Murphy--keyboardist with Chuck E. Weiss and drummer Tony Braunagel from the Taj Mahal Band. With the exception of the cover “I Choose to Sing the #Blues all of the songs are originals either penned by Pierson himself or in conjunction with Juber. The songs are a mixture of slow, back porch, acoustic slide blues--“Cold in my Bed“ to rousing electric numbers like “I Coose to Sing the Blues“ and “Bad Condition“. Pierson’s vocals are exceptional.
