Niger coup: Foreign nationals evacuated as tensions rise

More foreign nationals are leaving Niger as tensions rise after the coup last week where a military junta overthrew the democratically-elected President Mohamed Bazoum on July 26. The latest was a plane full of Italians, Americans and one British citizen landing in Rome. In addition, the first plane carrying French nationals and citizens of other European countries evacuated from Niger landed in Paris on Wednesday.
