The sensational yet all but forgotten Russian pianist Tatiana Ryumina playing Schumann’s Kreisleriana, op. 16, live at the 1974 Tchaikovsky Competition. Ryumina (b. 20 January 1950) studied with Tamara Bobovich at the Central Music School and with Yakov Flier at the Moscow Conservatory, graduating in 1973. Prior to that, in 1969, she placed second at the Schumann competition in Zwickau, and this recording makes it easy to hear why.
