F-8 Supercritical Wing Research Plane

Original Video of NASA’s F-8 Supercritical Wing Research Plane. Modified F-8s were used by NASA in the early 1970s to research both digital fly-by-wire and supercritical wings. The Vought F-8 Crusader (originally F8U) was a single-engine, supersonic, carrier-based air superiority jet aircraft built by Vought for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. The F-8 replaced the Vought F7U Cutlass.
