Dictyostelium aggregation

Here we see the social amoeba, Dictyostelium Discoideum, aggregate to form a migrating slug and then a fruiting body (the fruiting body grows up and left out of the frame). This experiment was performed on .5% agar gel, with a surface cell density of approximately one monolayer. The video starts 3 hours after starvation, and ends 18 hours after starvation.
