Oud Taqaseem maqam Kurd by Riyad Al Sunbati, transcriced by Dimitri Mikelis

This is a transcription I made on Riyad Sunbati’s taqasim on maqam Kurd including few important information about the melodic course of his improvisation. A composer and oud player with a great impact and influence to the Arabic Music of the mid-twentieth century period and during the Golden Era in Egypt (his compositions have been sung by Um Kulthum, Asmahan, Warda and others), an important musical figure and ideal source of demonstrating the art of Arabic Taqasim and Maqamaat is what makes Riyad Sunbati worth studying.
