Benny Morris claims Israel is not targeting Palestinian civilians

“If Israel wanted to kill civilians in Gaza they could have killed 500,000 by now” Israeli historian Benny Morris told political scientist Norman Finkelstein during a group debate on the Lex Fridman podcast that Israel would have killed many more Palestinians if it had been targeting civilians. Finkelstein countered by highlighting instances where Israel has targeted and killed Palestinian children, including an incident in 2015 when four children were killed by a navy vessel on a Gaza beach.
