VSC18 - Particle Collider Lecture with Nikita Sidorov, JINR

This lecture was held by special guest host Nikita Sidorov, joining us from the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research in Dubna. Nikita is a member of STAR collaboration at RHIC collider (Brookhaven National Lab) in USA and a member of NICA project that is under construction at JINR in Russia. The lecture will cover what we can collide, why we need colliders and what kinds of colliders have been designed. This lecture is targeted to the general public, however it would be useful if anyone attending is familiar with the structure of an atom, including nuclei, protons and neutrons.
