WHY I MOVED TO A RUSSIAN VILLAGE | My story

My name is Katerina, I am a Russian writer, and this is my journey to the past. I live in a small village on the Black Sea coast. I write books and work as a freelancer. But just a year ago I lived in Moscow. I was treating depression by that quarantine time, so I thought it was a good occasion to return to my home. For many people, covid became a tragedy, but for me it was the reason to listen to myself. I remember how I wanted to leave my village when I finished a school. I thought there is nothing worse than spending your life in a place like this, in a place where nothing happens. The same faces, the same landscapes. This village always comes to life only in summer, when tourists come to the sea, and the rest of the time there is silence and emptiness. So, I moved to Moscow. But the longer I was in the big city, the more I realized that I need this emptiness, this silence.
