Majestat (Russia) — Land of the Damned — 2023 EP

The third record of this Russian act. Proceeding with the sonic aesthetic concept from the album, more onto orthodox realm of black metal. Even if I might miss the initial harshness, it is quite interesting to see how this project developed, showing a well-structured black metal, only occasionally working on a mid-paced tempo (mostly for the second track) but more often than not resorting to faster paces and firmly conducting vocals. This is a great change and makes this record much more aggressive than the previous work, while still showing a great string ensemble coordination and output. As for the drumming, it still shows a good performance, especially on the third track, which is my favourite but also superior dynamically speaking.
