Wikidata + Books Workshop

In this #EveryBookItsReader workshop, we learned how to add books to Wikidata. More specifically, we learned about the #EveryBookItsReader campaign (); some general information about Wikidata; the way information is modeled in Wikidata (elements and properties); the power of linked data through SPARQL queries; and finally how to add a “literary work” Wikidata using other elements as an example and adding references to claims. This workshop was hosted on 30 March 2023, by Oregon State University’s librarian & campaign co-organizer, Laurie Bridges. Contents were delivered by Silvia Gutiérrez, Senior Program Officer for Libraries at the Wikimedia Foundation.
