Farewell Michael On Interstate 5

July 7, 2009, Tuesday morning in Los Angeles.... The Jackson family left their home for the Memorial celebration of their beloved Son, Brother, and Father, Michael Joe Jackson. I was up bright and early to watch all this on TV until I got word Michael’s motocade was gonna pass near my home in Glendale, California. So I threw on some clothes grabbed my camera and ran out there. The motorcade came southbound on I-5 from Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills to the Staples Center in Downtown L.A. for the service. Starting with the ramp from Los Feliz Blvd., police closed a section of the freeway entirely in advance of the procession. Its been pretty surreal for me these past two weeks. I never knew Michael in real-life but his songs, films, and video games have been a part of me since I was born. Now I know what it feels like when other generations lose vital music greats.
