đź”´Viking ship building in Norway - Part 9; Finishing the Meginhufr (Slow Film)

It is over a year since we started making the great strake (Meginhufr). Although this film doesn’t demonstrate exactly how we did it, it shows why it has taken so long. This has been the most complex piece to fit and entailed many, many repetitions offering up the board, taking measurements planing a little wood off and trying again. Splitting and shaping the wood, steaming and bending, etc, etc. and finally clinking the perfectly fitting piece to the boat. Part Four covers some of the earlier work on the Meginhufr.
