Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky started her journey in Extreme E in 2019 as the Continental Tyre test driver. She showcased her skills in the role and was offered a drive with the JBXE team for Season 1 and not long after joined RXR for Season 2 and Season 3 where she went on to win the Championship with teammate Johan Kristoffersson.
