Russian-made MiG-29K fighters take off from Indian aircraft carriers

In footage published by the Indian Navy, two Russian-built MiG-29K fighter jets took off simultaneously from the Indian aircraft carriers Vikramaditya and Vikrant, and landed cross-deck, in a maneuver conducted in the Arabian Sea region. The takeoff was part of India’s first Naval Commanders’ Conference, held to show the navy’s operational readiness, and the carrier operation was reportedly to demonstrate that INS Vikrant, India’s first domestically-produced carrier, has been fully integrated. In attendance at the conference was Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who discussed the role of the navy in ensuring peace in their waters, referencing the ongoing unrest in the Red Sea region.
