Hundreds of protesters rallied against government’s COVID-19 mandates in Melbourne on Saturday, just one day after Australia suffered its deadliest 24 hours of the pandemic. First rallying outside Melbourne’s Parliament House, the demonstrators marched through the city centre holding banners reading “Sack [Victoria Premier] Dan Andrews,“ and “No forced vax.” One protester carried a toilet with the words “Flush the mandates,“ written on it. Australia experienced its deadliest day of the pandemic on Friday with nearly 100 deaths.
