No titles. Veteran cycle run from London to Brighton. London and Brighton, East Sussex. General view of veteran cycles lined up for start of run from London to Brighton at Trafalgar Square. Looks like a really cold and dreary early morning. Among the contestants are Mrs E Beaumont on an 1899 Raleigh Tandem. Lord Mayor of Westminster Mr Prendergast looks at her bike. Mrs M Mundy is on a 1906 Jubilee Ladies cycle. Most people are in period costume. The bikes are lined up and Prendergast waves a chequered flag to start the race. Several shots of people starting off on bone shakers and driving along the route towards Brighton. Several men are on Penny Farthings. Shots of the participants arriving at Brighton where the Lord Mayor is waiting to greet them. Archive film of a vintage car driving along a road and a penny farthing overtaking it (this is 1930s or 1940s reconstruction).
