The Russian defence ministry said its air defences shot down two Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod and Kursk Regions on September 24. Three people died in Russian airstrikes targeting the southern Ukrainian regions of Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded two Polish volunteers state awards during a stopover in Poland on September 24. However, Zelensky did not meet any Polish officials as relations between the two countries are strained over grain imports.
