PETERHOF PALACE - TSAR’S RESIDENCE /// ST PETERSBURG, RUSSIA

Welcome to Saint Petersburg! With this travel video about the Peterhof Palace we start our new mini-series about palaces and parks of St Petersburg. We hope you enjoy it! Often called The Russian Versailles, Peterhof is a former tsar’s residence founded by Peter the Great in the 18th century. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Peterhof State Museum Reserve amazes visitors with beautiful architecture, rich palace interiors, marvellous fountains and picturesque gardens. In our Russia travel video, we show you around this famous landmark and share interesting facts to inspire your next visit. Arguably, the most interesting thing to see in Peterhof is the Grand Peterhof Cascade and other fountains around the park. These fountains are true masterpieces built by geniuses of their time. The Peterhof Palace fountains operate with no pumps which makes them a truly unique system (especially for the 18th century!).
