Betty Bucknell (1933)

Titles read: ’And now “On with the dance“ with dainty Betty Bucknell (of Prince’s Cabaret, etc). “There’s nothing like being on your toes to keep you moving“ - says Betty, - “and it’s a real slimmer, if you persevere.“’ Pathe Studio, London. Various shots of Betty Bucknell doing a fast dance on ballet points to a jaunty tune (looks quite strange, not to say painful). She wears a glamorous costume of a black bra top and pants joined together by a front panel (to cover the taboo bellybutton) and decorated with diamante. The costume has little puffed sleeves attached. At certain points in the routine we hear drum beats when Betty kicks her legs and slaps her thighs. Duplicate exists in Turns Can 3 - see separate record for details. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
