The story behind it is a motivating one, about inner journey towards healing. The beacon is lit and light shines on the landscape that is our inner world. through this illumination we find knowledge that helps us out of the darkness, and into a lighter state of mind. The light shines on our dark places, showing us that what is in this darkness is not as scary as it seemed. It is all part of us, and we are part of it. Beacon is a message to every person that we can overcome our darkest night. ABOUT ELYTRA: The word Elytra refers to the shields protecting the delicate flying wings of a beetle. To us naming our release thusly, it symbolises the protected creative space of the band that allows musical evolution and facilitate “flight” in SHIREENS ongoing musical journey, exploring new musical landscapes. On top of that it refers to the anatomy of a song; the colourful beautiful outer shell that i the music, sound, artwork, that covers and sometimes reveals the delicate veined structure of emotions and deeper meaning within.
