Ole Edvard Antonsen - Bosporus

Ole Edvard Antonsen was inspired to write this song after a visit to Istanbul, Turkey. This beautiful, fascinating and amazing city is divided into two by the great Bosporus strait with Asia on one side of the strait and Europe on the other. Istanbul is like a melting pot of different cultures. Despite all the different sounds and noises one can hear from such a huge city, there are always some special sounds that are cutting through the air, and that will be the sounds of minaret song and prayers. All these different impressions inspired Ole Edvard to write the song Bosporus, a mix of the East and the West. “Bosporus“ - (Antonsen/Halstensen) Live from the concert-show “Musical Landscapes“ Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Torodd Wigum recorded live in Bergen August 10 2006 for the album “Landscapes“ , OEA Records Atle Halstensen - keyboards Tom Erik Antonsen - bass Rune Arnesen - drums
