On 16 September 2022 Mahsa Amini was arrested by Iran’s morality police and then killed in prison because they said she wasn’t wearing her veil properly. Since that day, the protests have turned into a revolt against the regime of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Some women posted on social networks videos of themselves singing a Farsi version of “Bella Ciao“, which is an anthem for freedom and partisan resistance.
