The Neem “Santa’s White Nose Rocket“ (OMEN, 1950s?)

Written and sung by Henry Nemo, aka “The Neem.“ Henry Nemo was a band leader going back to the 30s, writing several songs that became jazz standards, including “Cotton Show“, “Don’t Take Your Love From Me“, and “Tis Autumn.“ In his career, he worked with Frank Sinatra, Mildred Bailey and Tommy Dorsey and Artie Shaw, but his most frequent collaborator was Duke Ellington, who he started working with in 1938. His band’s slogan was “Hit the Beam with the Neme.“ Henry Nemo had a reputation as a smooth talking hipster and was the inspiration for the “Charlie the Tuna” Starkist ad character, created by Nemo’s friend Tom Rogers at Leo Burnett. Wish you could see Santa’s White Nose Rocket? Sorry Charlie!
