Breeding Macropanesthia rhinoceros Rhino Roach Care #macropanesthiarhinoceros

Macropanesthia rhinoceros is the perhaps the most desirable pet insect in the history of the pet bug hobby, and for good reasons. You will see some 8.5 year old roaches in this video. They take 3 to 5 years to mature and won’t reproduce the first time for as many as 6 years. They are the heaviest cockroach in the world and they are very expensive. This Australian roach has many common names including Australian rhino roach, rhinoceros cockroach, litter bug, and giant litter bugs and giant burrowing roaches. In this video we document and discuss the care for this giant roach species including what to food them and how to feed them, as well as how to set their tank up. Dried leaves are the primary diet. We look at the life cycle of the rhino cockroach including babies, larger nymphs and adult males and females and discuss maternal care for the young. We talk about cannibalism and when to remove the adult males. I generally keep all the immature rhino roaches together. Adult males do show some territorial behaviors but are not documented as endangering each other as they bump each other around a bit. Courtship and breeding for Macropanesthia roaches is also observed and discussed in detail. Please hit the Like button & Subscribe!
