Nashville Chopin Competition Interviews: Elisey Mysin

This video is part of a series of interviews that I did at the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 14–15, 2023. In this video, I interview Elisey Mysin, 12, winner of first prize in the Artist division, as well as the Audience Choice award tied with Ethan Loch. Elisey competed in the Artist division (ages 16–22) despite being only 12, representing Russia. He played Chopin’s Mazurkas op. 6 no. 1 and op. 7 no. 2, Waltzes op. 34 nos. 2 and 3, Polonaise op. 26 no. 1, Nocturne op. 15 no. 2, Etudes op. 10 no. 8 and op. 25 no. 2, and Scherzo no. 4, as well as the commissioned piece, Nashville Nocturne by Ashot Ariyan.
