A hundred ropes are wound around a hundred throats Of those who sensed the darkness at the end of vain belief. They came here sick and thin as death To die before the whole world ends. The rotten fruits of hopelessness Disperse the stank of pestilence. In vain they sought the light of god As above is but the dark that conquers all. There is no “beyond the veil”. There only is “beneath the pall”. Bereft of goddesses and gods, Of saviours and saints, This world drifts into nothingness And the nameless dark descends. There is darkness at the end of the tunnel. Salvation is a fabled myth. They all set forth to nowhere. They only ceased to exist. Gloomy, gloomy lies the orchard, Full in bloom of putrid grief. A hundred ropes are wound around a hundred throats Of those who sensed the darkness at the end of vain belief. Ashes cling to lifeless flesh As does darkness to the world that ends While I am setting forth again And the nameless dark descends.
