Female Bobcats LOVE a Good Rub Under the Chin - JUST LIKE YOUR KITTIES!

This female Bobcat is marking territory by rubbing her sent glands on a stump near an animal trail. This serves two purposes: to let other female bobcats know this territory is already taken and to let males know that there is a possible date nearby. Filmed in the foothills above Los Angeles - the background rumble is the city’s melody. Cool fact: domestic cats still have these glands (located on their cheeks and under their chin). When scratched, endorphins are released making them feel relaxed and content. There is still wild in our house kitties!
