Brimstone - Paper Winged Dreams 1973 (USA, Progressive/Art Rock) Full Lp 5.1 sound
The group from Canton, Ohio was formed in the early 70s. The basis was prog, based on a spectacular combination of organ and guitar. With beautiful arrangements, excellent melodies, and polished polyphony, they were somewhat reminiscent of “Caravan” and the early “Yes”. To begin with, they released several forty-fives, then moved to Youngstown (Ohio) and organized their own recording studio, Brimstone Records. In 1973, the album “Paper Winged Dreams” was recorded and released. The first side contained several short, varied pieces, and the second featured an almost twenty-minute composition on religious themes, which in turn consisted of five parts. This composition developed children’s fantasies about the crown of the universe, the resurrection of Christ, and the meaning of life. This album turned out to be the only one in their discography, but is a vivid example of the prog movement of those years... In the 80s, they continued to tour around their city, periodically changing musicians.
