The Overlanders – The Leaves Are Falling WAEB 1966 Favorite Here’s a great record that I fondly remember playing at WAEB – AM 790 and WKAP – AM 1320 during Fall of 1966 and into Winter 1967. The single release did not chart nationally in the USA, but did chart in the Allentown – Bethlehem – Easton, PA area. It also remained a listener “end of Summer” favorite on my Sunday Night Hall of Fame shows for decades. The Overlanders were from England and their only nationally charted hit in the USA was their 1964 version of the Chad and Jeremy song “Yesterday’s Gone”. By January 1966, the group had a #1 charted hit in England with their version of the Beatles’ song “Michelle”. Interesting trivia on The Leave are Falling: Hickory records in the USA released the song two times. The first release was in March of 1965 and again Fall of 1966.
