Killing Floor - Out Of Uranus - from Out Of Uranus (1970) c. Bill Thorndycraft UK blues band from South London. Formed during the British “blues boom“ of 1968. The original band featured singer and harp player Bill Thorndycraft, bass player Stuart (Mac) McDonald, drummer Bazz Smith and pianist Lou Martin, and was an important part of the early blues rock movement. Contemporaries included Free, Black Cat Bones, Savoy Brown, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. The band worked hard on the English club and college scene including dates at London’s Marquee club with The Nice and Yes, as well as appearing on all the rock radio and TV shows of the time - for example the original Johnny Walker and John Peel Shows and Alexis Korner’s blues show. Killing Floor also backed Texas bluesman Freddie King on two U.K. tours, meeting up with Howlin’ Wolf, Arthur Crudup and Otis Spann along the way, and toured extensively in Europe, appearing at the Hamburg Easter Rock Festival (pi
