Near Space Balloon GoPro - Project Cirrus - Brazil

Must watch in HD! After many many researches, we finaly got a dream to come true! I , Francesco Rossi Lena, a 16 years old guy, with my family , girlfriend, school and friends developed an awesome project - Take videos from the stratosphere! With the help of my friends, my girlfriend, family and my school, we did it! We reached at more than 32Km of altitude and got awesome videos using our equipment. We used a 1500g Kaymont weather balloon; a GoPro Hero; a F9 HD DV; a mini camera, the SPOTGPS system, a sky-probe data logger and some other stuffs. With this configuration we were able to capture the earth curvature and the blackness of the space! Even in the day! That day ISON comet was passing near the sun, but capturing some imagery of it was impossible. We chased the balloon until it burst, seeing it as a small but bright star in the day sky. The weather was perfect! 27°C at ground and low wind. There was almost no clouds! We were able to take pictures of the ocean! We lanched it from Amparo -SP - Brazil on 11/28/2013 from a RC runway. The external temperature reached at -67ºF. After the balloon burst, the payload came back down with a parachute. A few minutes after landing we received a SPOT message, the payload was from launch! Everything worked fine! I would thanks all those who helped us make this true! Thanks to Colégio Tema, Ultragaz, Grupo Lena, Supermercados Guarani. Special credits for College Tema.
