Where Have All The Flowers Gone

Where Have All The Flowers Gone? is a folk song written by American singer-songwriter Pete Seeger in 1955. It was originally written as a three verse song and published in the “Sing Out!” magazine. Additional verses were added in May 1960 by Joe Hickerson. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame in 2002 in the “folk” category. In 2010 the New Statesman listed it as one of the “Top 20 Political Songs”. I recorded this as an instrumental track on my first album “The Lincolnshire Poacher” back in 2012. Although I was very pleased with my interpretation of this song in instrumental form, I always had a feeling that I would want to return to it one day to re-record it with a vocal track. The simplicity of the words and the power of the message are such integral parts of the song that I always felt any version without a vocal was incomplete. I hope you like the video that accompanies this song and it helps to deliver Pete Seeger’s important message.
