Drone explosion in Moscow caught on camera: “My heart is still pounding”

Eyewitness video captured the moment after an alleged Ukrainian drone was brought down on Friday, west of Moscow. Air defences downed the drone as it flew towards an unspecified target, the Russian defence ministry said, the latest in a flurry of drone attacks on the Russian capital. “My heart is still pounding,” 25-year-old Maria Ivanova said, who caught the aftermath on video. “I was shocked. My mind went blank. I ducked down immediately, because I realized that it was probably a drone coming in.” Earlier, Moscow’s Vnukovo airport and Kaluga airport, some 150 km southwest of the capital, were temporarily shut due to a suspected drone flight. They later reopened. Drone air strikes deep inside Russia have increased since a drone was destroyed over the Kremlin in early May. Civilian areas of the capital were hit later in May and a Moscow business district was targeted twice in three days earlier this month, according to reports.
