LIVE: France goes into third lockdown to fight COVID-19 surge

French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the French nation on Wednesday, March 31, concerning the tightening of restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 amid a rising infection rate. Measures currently in place in certain parts of the country will be extended nationwide for four weeks. A country-wide curfew will be in place between 19:00 and 06:00 (17:00 -04:00 GMT), while schools will close for at least three weeks. Meanwhile all non-essential shops are to close, and travelling more than 10km (six miles) from home without a good reason is to be banned.​
