The Ruins of Beverast - The Clockhand’s Groaning Circles (Faust 1926 TRIBUTE)

Taken from TRoB’s tremendous first album, Unlock the Shrine (2004), I find this mesmerizing track to serve as a worthy companion to the 1926 silent film Faust – A German Folktale (Faust – Eine deutsche Volkssage), directed by F. W. Murnau. The demon Mephisto has a bet with an Archangel that he can corrupt a righteous man’s soul and destroy in him what is divine. If he succeeds, the Devil will win dominion over earth.
