Boxing Trick of the Trade - How To Defend Against Overhand Right
Boxing Trick of the Trade - How To Defend Against Overhand Right. Tom Yankello of the @WorldClassBoxingChannel demonstrates a trick of the trade if you have a guy that throws the overhand right or a right cross over top of your guard, Tom shows you a trick you can do. What you can do defensively is put your weight on your back leg and throw your right hand to his right hand while you bow down to the right and then you can throw an uppercut, you can hook him, or you can throw a punch to the body. Tom also explains how you can bow down and step in. He also shows you how you can roll with the punch as well. Throwing your arm to block the overhand right is a very slick boxing move. Tom shows you a clip of Sugar Ray Robinson who often utilized this move effectively. Tom also explains how you can hook the guy on the back of his head to control him. Again, this is a very slick boxing move.
