The Medicine of Ayahuasca (As Seen in Shipibo Tradition)

Ayahuasca, the vine of the dead, the Spirit Molecule, Oni (in shipibo language) is the heritage of the Shipibo - Konibo tradition that has been used for healing and guidance for ages. This short documentary tells about the medicine of Ayahuasca as they see it in the Shipibo ancestral tradition. It differs from what Ayahuasca is being viewed in a Western Culture, especially since it has become a popular destination, including among celebrities. This episode is an attempt not only to bring more awareness about what is Ayahuasca for the indigenous people in Peru, but also to convey a feeling of a ceremony through captivating visual FX and icaros recorded during a powerful ceremony in the Amazonian jungle. Thanks to the video art of TAS Visuals with whom I was collaborating on this short film. This short movie is an invitation to see, and to unsee. Enjoy and share!
