Now luck would have it that my two biggest fears are puppets and spiders. And this game is FULL of them. I was surprised by how big and ambitious this game turned out to be. It starts out fairly simple with you walking through a forest and arriving at a mansion. There is a sewer section, then the mansion itself and eventually a part through a mine. But then eventually you arrive at a theme park and the amount of variety when it comes to the enviroments and enemies was very cool. You will go to Animal Village which is very much inspired by Its a Small World, but also a pirate themed attraction and of course a Haunted Mansion. Each section plays different with new enemy types, but also different gameplay. There is one section where you get to face an enemy that only moves when you are not directly looking at it or there is a section with creepy crawlers that shoot acid at you from afar. It made me excited to see what new area I would head towards next and the game is pretty difficult which means that exploring is rewarding, since you need all the ammo and health that you get. The enemy design is also really, really creepy and the dolls gave me a good scare more than once. Probably the weakest part about the game is the beginning. It starts out a bit slow and familiar and the first sewer section is very dark. I’m afraid some players might not pull through to the point of the theme park, which is where the game really shines and opens up. It has some great puzzles here and there too and overall I cannot wait to see what comes next from this developer. #masterofpuppets #gaming #jackholmesmasterofpuppets #indiegaming #horrorgaming #themepark #hauntedmansion
