Minister Bayraktar inspected the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant construction site

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that they inspected the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) construction site and received information on the latest status of the power plant. In his post on his X social media account, Bayraktar stated the following: “We were at the construction site of Akkuyu NPP, the first nuclear power plant of our country. We examined the works on site with Rosatom President Alexei Lihachev and received information about the latest status of the power plant. Akkuyu NPP, which is a strategic step for Turkey’s energy supply security, will meet 10 percent of our country’s electricity needs alone when it is commissioned at full capacity. Thus, we will avoid 35 million tonnes of carbon emissions every year.“
