Shah Pays State Visit (1959)

Titles read: “LONDON - SHAH PAYS STATE VISIT“. Various shots of the Shah of Persia (Iran) arriving at Victoria railway station for a state visit. Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh) and Princess Margaret greet the Shah as he steps off his train. Sir Philip Warter stands beside the Duke. The Princess Royal (Princess Mary), Duchess of Gloucester, Duchess of Kent (Princess Marina) and her daughter Princess Alexandra all shake hands with the Shah. He then chats to the Queen. The Shah moves along a line of officials waiting to greet him, including Prime Minister Harold Macmillan, Mr Butler and Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd. The Queen and the Shah leave the station, followed by the rest of the royal family. Various shots of the Queen and the Shah getting into an open carriage outside Victoria station and driving off in a procession down the Mall, accompanied by Household Cavalry.
