UK’s Foreign Secretary questioned over arms exports to Israel

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron fumbled over his answers when he was questioned by the Foreign Affairs Committee over the country’s continued licensing of arms exports to Israel, amid growing international pressure calling for Israel to act within the bounds of international law in Gaza. Under the UK’s criteria for arms exports, the government must suspend licences to countries that violate international law. The government currently faces a High Court challenge over its licensing of arms exports to Israel. Israel’s bombardment of Gaza has killed over 23,200 Palestinians.
