1st Beat from "Three Beats for Beatbox Flute" by Greg Pattillo

- The sheet music is available as an instant download in PDF form here: This piece was composed during the winter of 2010-11 for the National Flute Association Convention High School Competition, Charlotte, 2011. This is the first movement of the three that make up the entire piece. It was specifically written to bridge the gap between western flute styles and human beatboxing. There is no improvisation, everything has been notated and written down (GP is playing by memory). Also, it is encouraged to use a microphone for performance, especially for large rooms, but not necessary.
