See important Masterworks disclosures: ▶ In this video I talk about the breakaway & unrecognized state of Ambazonia, located in South / Southern Cameroon (although in the North-West of the country). This is an area that is populated by many Anglophone people, a consequence of British colonization since the territory became a colony of Great Britain after being taken from Germany due to its defeat in World War 1. While the rest of Cameroon, also taken from Germany, was then occupied and ruled as a colony of France, therefore developing a Francophone culture. Its cultural differences and the apparent dominance of Francophones over the country’s institutions, led to reduced autonomy and a declaration of independence by Ambazonians, although so far unsuccessfuly.
