Russia withdraws: Ukrainian Pilots Successfully Fly a Mirage 2000-C Fighter Jet

French President Emmanuel Macron revealed on Monday that France had extended an invitation to train Ukrainian fighter pilots, signaling support for Ukraine while ruling out deploying the fighter planes to Kyiv. Zelensky has constantly requested advanced fighter jets such as the US-designed F-16, but NATO members have refrained from supplying fighter jets to Kyiv. Earlier this year, a French official linked to the air force command suggested that France could potentially provide 13 retired Mirage 2000-C fighters, but the timeframe required to train Ukrainian pilots in these aircraft is likely to be prohibitive.
