The grand voice of Edith Piaf soars over the tale of the star-crossed lovers of 13th Century Spain whose marriage was never to be on earth, yet their union survived even death. The song in its original Greek version is Omorphi Poli, “Beautiful City.“ Piaf recorded this song in 1962, the year before she died, sounding strong as ever despite great physical handicap.
