Sun Fires Off a M-Class Solar Flare and CME - September 11. 2023.

New sunspot AR3429 erupted this morning, Sept. 11th (01:28 UT), producing an solar flare and a surge of plasma over the sun’s northeastern limb. SOHO coronagraphs observed a fast-moving CME emerging from the blast site. Analysis of the CME is in progress, however it likely has no Earth-directed component given the source location was close to the NE limb. Solar activity is expected to be at low levels, with a chance for M-class (R1-R2/Minor-Moderate) flare activity, through 13 Sept.
